Having pets comes with the possibility of little accidents that can cause long lasting odors and stains. Knowing the best way to remove stains is important for any dog or cat owner. Here’s how to clean the toughest stains:
Pet Stains & Removal
Urine: Accidents happen, even to the highly trained pups! It is important to remove the pet’s urine before it dries into the carpet fibers. First, layer a few paper towels and firmly press them into the carpet and stain. This allows you to remove as much of the liquid as possible. Then, mix a solution of 2 cups of water, 2 cups vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Apply this solution and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Next, blot the stain to remove the solution.
Vomit: Upset tummies are not fun, for you or your furry pet! Much like urine, it is important to remove this from your carpet fibers in a timely manner. First, to avoid a larger mess and headache, remove any solids with a dust pan, broom and paper towels. Next, combine 2 cups water, 1/2 cups vinegar, 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Then apply with a sponge or cloth. Blog lightly and repeat as needed. Once the stain has been removed, apply a small amount of water and blot dry.
