Vacuuming: When vacuuming, ensure the roller height is right for your home or office. If the roller is too high, it will not pick up any of the dirt or dander. If the roller is too low, it may result in damaging your carpet as well as your vacuum.

To extend the lifespan of your carpet, vacuum high-traffic areas at least twice per week. As you walk across the carpet, the dirt damages the fibers and decreases the life expectancy of your carpet. High traffic areas should be passed over twice, while lower traffic areas only need one pass.

Spot Removal: When dealing with carpet stains, the sooner the action, the easier they are to remove.

First, use a clean cloth to blot and soak up the spill, be sure to press firmly. Fold the cloth to a clean section and repeat the blotting until the majority of the stain has been removed. Next, gently add water and continue to blot with a clean cloth until the stain has been removed. Use a third cloth to soak up any excess water. It is important to not RUB the area, as it can result in a larger stain.

If the water-only solution does not remove the stain, add an equal amount of water/white wine vinegar to the stain and soak up in the same manner. Not only is white wine vinegar a great chemical-free stain removal option, it will also absorb any odor.
